This course is intended for personnel who work with lasers in the course of their employment, research, or education. It is also suitable for individuals intending to use lasers for hobby or other purposes.
About this course
Australian Work Health and Safety legislation requires that all persons who operate laser equipment be trained in proper equipment use. This course provides the general knowledge and skills component of safety training for operations of lasers in the workplace.
It is a legislative requirement that any person working with Class 3B or Class 4 lasers in Western Australia hold a license issued by the Radiological Council or be working under the supervision of a license holder. Successful completion of the course and examination meets the requirements for obtaining the licence.
The course is also a suitable entry-level preliminary to more advanced Laser Safety Officer training.
